No, we are not talking about New Hampshire....
The Aga Khan: a Voice of Reason documentary shown on VisionTV this past weekend did really really well!
The documentary had the HIGHEST audience figures out of any of the other documentaries in the Inspirational Leaders Series. Also for a one-off documentary, the ratings were well-above the average.
Friday and Saturday prime times: average audience size 30,000 per showing (sub-total: 60,000)
Friday midnight: 23, 000
Total average: 83,000 households tuned in.
Maybe 2 or 3 people watched the documentary together in a household (Shamir's estimates): 150,000 - 250,000 watched the documentary! WOW! Considering Canada's relatively small population size and you needed cable to access the channel, this is FANTASTIC!!!
Thank you to all those who spread the word!

Congratulations Shamir. Well deserved.
When is this coming to USA? Hopefully soon/
When we can find a US broadcaster who wants to show a good side of Islam; a film that is not necessarily edgy but does have something to say.
In short, the team is working hard on trying to secure one. :)
Very well produced Shamir. Way to go :-)
It made me feel proud to be an Ismaili (I always have been, but now I can show it and be an ambassador of my faith).
Well, I hope you could secure PBS or a non-cable channel. I don't have Cable ;o)
Please let me know which Charity is being supported...Thx
There are a number of people who get to decide. The first objective is not to be raising money for charity. The first objective is the message and the issues. We thought that since we made this film with good intentions, we should make this a good cause all around. As you can imagine, it wasnt cheap to make the film as it took 2 years with filming in over 9 countries. If/when we get closer to recouping the costs (and we are far-off right now), we will then get suggestions from decision makers and vote on it. The charity would be a registered one and ideally its mission would be in line with the overall film's vision of bridging divides.
Congrats on the success Shamir. Any update on the DVD release? Do you plan or are trying to relay it on New Zealand television?
Regards...
I suggest PBS too! Congratulations on successful London Premier and Canadian broadcast!
